Are you looking for a mid-level starter home? Ashton Woods has the perfect one for you. Located on the northwest side of Fort Worth, Berkshire is a master planned community waiting for you to move in and start enjoying the homeowner’s life.
First, the location is perfect. This is an ideal combination of city and country living. You are close to businesses and places to eat but get to enjoy the quiet and space of the country. My mom moved to this area ten years ago. As she put it, “There are shopping and restaurants aplenty but we still have bovine road kill”. The area has grown and businesses and restaurants have been popping up in this area for the last ten years but, there is still plenty of open land left. This area boasts the Texas Motor Speedway, Tanger Outlets, Alliance Airport and the fairly new Alliance Town Center. DFW International Airport and Meacham Airport are also minutes away. 287, 114 35W and 820W are all within minutes from your new front doorstep.

I absolutely loved their model home. The downstairs, while elegant and cozy, was cozy and simple. The upstairs was the complete opposite. If you are a more private family, this may be the house for you. I do not want guests to see into my child’s room. Inevitably, it would be a disaster on the day company comes. With this house, a regular guest wouldn’t see the mess unless they went upstairs. There is plenty of room downstairs to relax and spread out but, the upstairs is made for that. If I could just live in the upstairs half, I would be okay with that.

One of my favorite details in the house is an add-on, a choice you may or may not like. The stairs are amazing! I loved the shiny metallic tile going up the stairs and the matching backsplash on the upstairs wet bar. With Ashton Woods, you can choose how you want your home to look and they can customize it or you can go for one of their seven already ready homes at Berkshire.

One of my desires when I check out new homes… things that are unique or unusual. I love how the upstairs has different “levels”. There are only two stories but, upstairs has different rooms that are one or two steps up or down. I haven’t seen that in any other model home yet.

I refer to this home as a mid-level starter home because of size. Don’t get me wrong, this is still too much house for my small family of three. However, this house is spacious without being oversized. The living room is functional without being so large that you have to buy two sets of furniture to fill it. I’ve seen kitchen islands so large that a mom couldn’t put a bowl of cereal in front of their child without walking around to the other side. This island is perfect for busy moms that want to feed their kid without the extra walking. Especially when you know, as soon as you make it back to the other side of the island, that’s when they are going to spill their milk.
