Doing work for this blog, I have gotten to see many model homes. They have all been gorgeous. My problem has always been that I have a very small family (two adults, one child) and absolutely no desire to clean more house than I need. Most of the homes I have toured have been 4-5 bedroom homes with massive amounts of space and vaulted ceilings. I look at those and think about the electricity to heat and cool that two-story living room ceiling and wonder who is going to clean all the nooks and crannies of the 6,000 square foot homes. This home by Centex is the first one that I have really been able to see my family living in.
The model I toured was the Claypool layout. It had five bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and was almost 3,000 feet. It really does not feel that big, but not in a bad way. I do not want to have to buy two sets of living room furniture because the space demands it. This living room and kitchen are the perfect size for us. I can cook dinner while still being able to interact with my family. I can set a plate of food in front of my daughter while she sits at the kitchen island without having to walk all the way around it. Big kitchens and huge islands have their place, just not for me. As a baker, the thought of having all that space to do my Christmas baking is a dream. However, I do not bake every day and would rather have the convenience of a smaller area to clean that a large countertop for one day. Besides, this kitchen has plenty of counter space and cabinetry to work well for the majority of families, including mine.
The master suite is usually my favorite in any given model home and this one is no exception. This bedroom would be my sanctuary without imposing more requirements on me. The bathrooms that are larger than my current two-bedroom apartment are luxurious and spa like but I would not want all that “wasted” space. This bathroom has the elegant feel without being overly large. I could totally relax after a long day in that tub and the closet is the perfect size…it even has a little hidden nook area.
West Fork Ranch is located on the northwest side of Fort Worth and is the perfect location for this starter home. You have the closeness of multiple businesses and restaurants but the quiet and piece of the country. You can see stars at night but not have to drive twenty minutes to find an open store after ten pm. You are close to Alliance, Meacham and DFW airports and minutes from Tanger Outlets and Texas Motor Speedway.
With six different floor plans, starting in the low $200’s you do not want to wait long to check out these homes. Not only does your money buy you an excellent home, you now have access to two resort style amenity centers with two pools totaling over 7,500 square feet. There is also an awesome children’s wading pool, splash pad and play area. There are miles of paved bike trails and a family friendly dog park. The best part? There is an elementary school as part of this development.
