CalAtlantic Homes at Winding Creek

First, wow…just, wow. The homes at Winding Creek are amazing! Let’s start with the location. Winding Creek is located in the prestigious Carroll ISD in Southlake. You are minutes from DFW Airport, Southlake Town Center, Tanger Outlets, Texas Motor Speedway and so much more. Your children will go to award-winning, nationally recognized schools, like Carroll High School (go Dragons!). My mom has lived near Southlake for the last decade and I love the area. You are truly in the middle of everything and nothing takes very long to get to, at least, that is how it feels to me. Winding Creek is located just a mile off of 114, very near DFW airport.

Now, let’s talk about the house. Get comfortable, it is going to take a few minutes for me to rave about this house. There are two model homes on this site. A one-story and a two-story home, both beautiful but, the one I wanted to share was the lavish and grandiose two-story. I have gotten to tour many homes working for this blog; this is one of my favorites. There are so many features that I love about this home that I cannot pick a favorite. Walking up to the house, I was already in awe. This is a statement house and I loved what it was saying. This house, on a smaller scale, would be my dream home. My family is just two adults and a child (who will leave for college in a few short years) and this would just be too much space. This particular home had five bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and a four-car garage, coming in at around 6,000 feet. That’s a good 3-4,000 more than I need.

This home had two staircases, a grand spiral staircase in the front of the house and a smaller set behind the kitchen. I have dreamed about having two staircases in my home since I was a child watching Full House. There is a second-floor balcony that is also a requirement for my dream home. I love that each bedroom has a bathroom en-suite and additional bathrooms for guests. I love the walk-in pantry and that kitchen is my baking-dream come true. I love that the wall of windows separating the living/dining area from the backyard slide back, creating a completely open entertainment space during the few months that Texas weather cooperates. Oh yeah, this house has a craft room. A craft room! I absolutely adore the space upstairs reserved for crafts and projects…that would be my version of the she-shed. My partner can have the movie theater/game room/wet bar as his man cave; that craft room would be my sanctuary.

My absolute favorite portion of this house would be the master suite. The bedroom is nice, with its vaulted, embellished ceiling, but the bathroom is where it’s at. The bathroom and walk-in closet are the square footage of my current two-bedroom apartment. I could live in that bathroom and be perfectly content. I love, love, LOVE the walk-though shower. I even included a picture in here of your view, sitting inside the shower. I have loved the non-enclosed shower idea since I saw it a few years back on one of those home improvement shows. The tub looks like it could fit three and even the water closet is spacious. There is a plethora of storage options and the master closet is a fashionista’s dream.
