A bit of a drive, but well worth the trip to Roanoke, is one of the top Resale/Consignment shops in the DFW area. Sadie’s, located on Hwy 377 in downtown Roanoke, TX., exists to fund the Meals on Wheels program in the Metroport area. Metroport is comprised of the communities of Argyle, Haslet, Justin, Northlake, Roanoke, Trophy Club, Westlake, and areas in between.
First, Sadie’s is surrounded by towns with median incomes 100k and above. This means the items donated or placed on consignment are way above average donations in value and condition. To make this clear, I’ve purchased pieces of Waterford and real jewelry in Sadie’s. The clothes have designer labels. Have I got your interest?
Second, all the money goes to Meals on Wheels. Even the stores workers are volunteers! Shopping doesn’t get better than this.
Third, they won Living Magazine Readers Choice, 2014 & 2017. They also won Dallas A-List, 6-time winner, in resale. So, you’re shopping in a prize winner and that, with the donation aspect, makes you a winner!
Sadie’s is in the same building with the Meals on Wheels Assoc., 432 N. Hwy. 377, Roanoke, Texas 76262. (12 minutes from Main St. Grapevine) You can call with questions – 817-490-0191, as well as check them out on their website, http://sadiesupscale.com
At Christmas, Sadie’s has an Angel Tree with seniors on it. Folks who have no idea what to buy a child or the latest in kids fads, could certainly handle the basic needs of a senior. But that’s not all. Sadie’s has a donation service that I’ve used several times. If someone you know has lost a loved one, or you like to give donations for gifts, Sadie’s is your place. Drop by with money and the address of recipient and they will send a lovely donation-thank you card, to the friend or loved one. Way better than flowers and 100% tax-deductible.
Did you know $35.00 will feed a Senior for a week? And Sadie’s is only one stop on a Thrift Shop Crawl through the Roanoke-Keller area with each store benefitting a different charity. Such as Bearly Used, which supports Christ Haven Home for children, and North Texas Charities which support 20 different kids and animal’s charities. (See previous blog for North Texas Charities)
I didn’t even go into what Sadie’s carries as it changes constantly. They have a sign on the counter that reads. “I wish I’d bought it when I saw it”! It is never the same store, twice, but it never disappoints. Really, look at the pictures with this article. Not only do they sell the best, but they display it to show how it will work in your home. Some of the brands they have are, Chico’s, Kate Spade, Ethan Allen, Michael Kors, and Hooker Furniture.
Their hours are Mon-Fir, 10am – 6pm, and Sat. 10am – 5pm. Delivery arrangements can be made for a fee. Call the shop for details. They love to help.
