Margaritas Authentic Mexican Restaurant is a new offering in the white-hot competitive market for mexican restaurants in Oak Cliff. It’s located just down the street from the historic Texas Theater.
One thing to note is that this location is a “spin off” of another location on Fitzhugh Avenue, which has been delighting East Dallas for more than 30 years. The Jefferson Boulevard location opened in late 2018.
The interior is bright and minimal/modernistic – a clean and welcoming environment. Speaking of welcoming, the service is as well! We were met with a smile and seated quickly.
The restaurant has a nice semi-enclosed patio which will be perfect for watching the world go by while sipping one of their excellent margaritas.
While the menu nods towards Tex-Mex, it features a more interior Mexican list, which your “abuelita” might have made. Offerings include calabacitas rellenas de quest (squash filled with mozzarella cheese, and accompanied by steak, rice and beans. I’ve heard they mark holidays with special dishes, such as shrimp cakes in red sauce for Lent! Also, you can’t go far wrong with a restaurant serving horchatas and Mexican Coca-Cola!
Drop by Margaritas soon and give them a try!
