Since 1989 the Local Diner has served the Dallas area great breakfast and lunch. They made a restaurant that resembles a time period when mealtime meant conversation and first-person interaction. They wanted a dining experience where the food was so good that you would return for future visits, and customer service that would welcoming and warm.
The Local Diner is set in a 1950s retro look, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Liz Taylor, John Wayne Chuck Berry and The Rat Pack adorn the walls of this diner. Vintage signs of Coke Cola, Pepsi, Royal Crown and sundaes also are part of the décor.
The menu is what one can expect for a Texas breakfast and lunch place. This means large portions of delicious food. Migas, omelets, Texas size pancakes, and even Chicken Fried Steak with a side of eggs and grits is on the menu waiting for you to order!
They also provide wonderful Blue-Plate specials, so be prepared to wear your elastic waist bands! They serve items like, Burger Steak, Chicken Fried Chicken, Liver and Onions and Meatloaf with fantastic brown gravy.
Save room for dessert! Ice Cream Floats, Shakes, Malts and Ice Cream Sundaes are all delicious and they are must tries!
The prices are very affordable and over all this place is definitely worth the visit.
