Esperanza’s Bakery and Café is part of the famous Joe T. Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant tradition. In 1935 the Garcia family opened Esperanza’s to provide a larger more traditional menu to their customers. They named the restaurant and bakery Esperanza’s after Mr. and Mrs. Joe T Garcia’s daughter.

The menu is Mexican delicious and traditional. The menu is filled with Mexican bread, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner items. You can also order from the bakery part of the restaurant. I suggest you order the massive burritos! These burritos taste just like they came out of a Mexican grandmother’s kitchen!

At breakfast, that can mean eggs with either bacon or pork chops, huevos rancheros, or eggs scrambled. Lunch features tamales, gorditas, flautas, grilled beef liver, or slow-cooked baby goat.

I also suggest the migas that are served with Mexican potatoes with chorizo, refried beans and pico de gallo. You may also want to try the queso flameado prior to the main dish. Expect the tamales to taste like you are on the border of Mexico. The tamales have a wonderful flavor and are moist and practically perfect. Esperanzas offers authentic Mexican fruit juices (Auga frescas) and a large variety of Pan Dulce.

On some weekend nights Esperzna’s provides Mariachi entertainment. They are friendly and sing beautiful There is seating inside and outside and rooms available for events.
