Fresh is the platform this Latin cuisine restaurant stands on. The food is so fresh in this local favorite’s eatery, the only freezer in their business is the freezer they use for their delicious Margarita machine. This is NOT your typical TexMex joint. When you walk into one of their locations you will notice the regulars are from every Latin American country.
Don’t expect traditional chips and salsa, don’t expect to find a run of the mill enchilada plate with rice and beans. Do not expect the normal Mexican décor. Do expect tortas that are made to perfection. Do expect the bread on those tortas to be toasted to the exact point of excellence. Do expect to be served black bean soup prior to your meal to taste the way a Latina mom would have made it within her own kitchen. Do expect some pretty incredible Mango Margaritas. And over everything else, do expect to have some incredible customer service!
El Tizoncinto has raised the bar in the concept of local. All of their ingredients are purchased locally (the cilanctro and mangos are defiantly NOT frozen) and all of the meats are hand-cut in house to ensure the best quality and best cuts are served.
Here are the MUST tries on your visit to El Tiz. As mentioned, prior, the tortas are a must! The way they can toast the bread to the perfect degree of crispiness is truly an art. The soups and Menudo they offer would actually make my own Latina grandmother pleasantly surprised. The tacos are also a must try, the meat is juicy and filled with flavor indigenous to South American countries. Do yourself a favor and try the flautas. These are the number one favorite menu item in their Oak Cliff and Forest Lane locations. The Flautas are three corn tortillas that are filled with chicken and potatoes then fried crisp. They are then topped with shredded lettuce, cream fresh and avocado. Is your mouth watering yet?
Try El Tizoncinto soon! You won’t be disappointed and will quickly become a regular customer.
