Korean corn dog cafe Frank Seoul in Frisco, Texas

Frank Seoul

Calling all corn dog lovers! Did you know there’s an authentic Korean corn dog cafe located right in Frisco? Frank Seoul dishes up traditional Korean street foods and coffee in a chill, Instagrammable setting.

Frank Seoul opened its first US location in Frisco in July of 2020 at the height of the coronavirus pandemic. Since then, they’ve been proudly serving their specialty fried Korean-style corn dogs, which are beautifully battered on a stick, filled with mozzarella, and finally topped off with sugar. Frank Seoul offers multiple varieties of their famous hot dogs, including:- The potato hot dog, which is the hot dog fried with a crispy batter and wrapped in diced, fried potatoes. – Potato cheese hot dog and potato cheddar cheese hot dogs, which are hot dogs fried in batter, filled with mozzarella and cheddar cheese respectively, and covered in crispy potato cubes. – “Seoul ang” hot dog, which is filled with sweet red bean.

My personal favorites include the half and half dog, which consists of half hotdog and half mozzarella cheese, and the jalapeño sausage hot dog for the spicy kick!

Speaking of spicy, for those of you who are up for the challenge, Frank Seoul also serves traditional Korean tteokbokki, or rice cakes made from corn starch and red pepper paste. This dish is not for the faint of heart. The first time I tried tteokbokki, I was shedding tears involuntarily! But for those who have a high spice tolerance, tteokbokki pairs well with a fried frank.

Despite all of the savory food and snack options, Frank Seoul’s core identity remains as a cafe. They offer a variety of refreshing house-made ades, like orange-ade and kiwi-ade. For those who require a caffeine kick, Frank Seoul whips up creative coffees, including their signature Korean Mix coffee, consisting of coffee, cream, and sugar over ice, topped with crunchy dalgona bites!

The viral dalgona coffee social media trend was all the rage in the beginning of the pandemic, but the origins of this nostalgic Korean snack can be traced back to the 1960’s in Busan. Dalgona is sweet, toffee-like candy made from sugar and baking soda. Frank Seoul pays homage to this traditional snack with their iconic dalgona milk coffee. It’s sweet, milky, velvety smooth and is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth! For those interested in an equally-fulfilling drink without as much sweetness, I highly recommend the refreshing matcha dalgona coffee, finished with crunchy dalgona bits!

Whether you’re in the mood for a unique fried snack, spicy authentic Korean meal, or a refreshing drink to get you through the day, your taste buds will thank you for checking out FrankSeoul.
