Del Toro BBQ

Can’t decide between Mexican and BBQ? Well, do I have the perfect spot for you! Located in the downtown area of Mansfield, this unique restaurant concept recently opened its doors. You can find the a variety of smoked meats and delicious sides served with a Mexican twist at Del Toro BBQ.

After seeing some photos on Instagram, I knew I had to check this place out. I was surprised to find that there wasn’t a line out the door when I arrived, because the smells were absolutely mouthwatering. Since it was our first time here, we took some time to look over their amazing menu and even received recommendations from the manager who was happy to assist us. We decided on the brisket nachos and 3 meat plate to give us an opportunity to try both of the menu styles.

While we waited for our food, we grabbed a seat in the bar area and decided to try the local blonde beer that was brewed on-site at By the Horns Brewing. It was delicious! Our food was also out in no time, and we couldn’t wait to dig in. For our smoked meats we had the turkey, classic brisket and cheddar jalapeño sausage.

Everything was tender and juicy and lived up to some of our favorite BBQ joints that we have been enjoying for years. To compliment the meat, we had their elote corn that was served with a spicy salsa and the Mac n’ Cheese. Everything on the plate had such great flavors and I truly loved the mix and match of cuisines. Not to be outdone, the brisket nachos may have been my favorite thing to eat. The chips were made fresh and topped high with juicy brisket, creamy queso, pico de gallo and queso fresco. These nachos were the perfect treat for enjoying the spring day and weren’t too heavy.

Everything about our experience deserved five stars, from the service to the amazing food. In addition to the great atmosphere inside, you can also enjoy their expansive patio section for those warmer summer days. I look forward to bringing my friends and family back soon!
