Craving something sweet? Looking for a new breakfast spot? Exploring Deep Ellum? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you should make your way to Le Bon Temps.
This cozy New Orleans inspired cafe is serving up delicious treats that will have you coming back for more. We decided to try it out after spending a Saturday shopping and eating our way through the Deep Ellum neighborhood in Dallas. Le Bon Temps straightforward menu will transport you to the French Quarter with beignets, ice-cream and tasty coffee drinks. Along with the sweet treats, you can expect great southern hospitality from their team who is happy to help you decide what to try.
As someone who has been to New Orleans on numerous occasions, I knew I had to try the beignets for myself. You can order classique style or Le Boneignet, which has butter between the layers of dough and has a flakier texture. I went with the classic and ordered three to share. They were served hot and had the perfect dough consistency. Of course, they were covered in the traditional powdered sugar, so get ready to get a little messy!
If you are looking to indulge even more, Le Bon Temps also offers a beignet ice-cream sandwich that’s made on-site with their signature southern flavors. They also offer alcohol-infused ice cream, which sounded amazing. While I just went for the classic beignets, everything on their menu looked amazing and I’m disappointed that I didn’t grab a coffee to go. With that in mind, I know I will heading back soon and I hope you will be too!
