Ozona Grill and Bar

Game days are back in Texas! I have the perfect place for your next watch party. Ozona Grill and Bar off Greenville Avenue offers the perfect location close to SMU in University Park for great food, drinks, and a lively atmosphere. With plenty of seating inside and outside, it’s the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat before the game or for a celebratory drink after the Mustangs win. Regardless of the outcome. you are sure to enjoy this grill and bar.

We decided to check them out on a Saturday after hearing great reviews from friends. We initially were intrigued with their weekend specials that included a build-your-own Bloody Mary bar and mimosa buckets that are perfect for brunch. Also, if you go around lunch time on the weekends, you can enjoy food from both their brunch and lunchtime menus. While the parking lot was packed, they did have additional overflow parking and we were able to get seated immediately out on the patio. They had plenty of fans to keep us cool and even TVs so we could be a part of the action.

All three of us started off with the Bloody Mary bar, which featured your choice of vodka, mixers and fixings to make your drink truly unique. I loved this option and it was the perfect way to start off our brunch. As we sipped our drinks, we snacked on an appetizer of huge onion rings that paired nicely with a sweet and creamy honey mustard dipping sauce. For food, I kept my meal standard by ordering the huevos rancheros that paired perfectly with my spicy Bloody Mary. The eggs were nice and runny and covered in delicious cheese and salsa. As a side, I grabbed their sweet potato fries that were crunchy and delicious.

My brunch mates tried the lunch options of the queso smothered catfish and Mas Mejor chicken sandwich. The catfish piece was massive and tasted great with the creamy queso. With this large meal they also received a side salad and fruit cup that was more than enough food for one person. The chicken sandwich that was also impressive had crispy back, choice of cheese and crisp lettuce and tomatoes for the perfect bite. It tasted well with the fresh fruit as a complete meal. My friends ended up taking some of their meal to-go because the serving sizes were plentiful.

Overall we truly enjoyed our dining experience here. Every member of the staff we interacted with were helpful and kind. It also was great that the service was speedy and everything we tried was delicious.
