Tacos are a must when dining in DFW and this spot I recently found may be a new favorite for me. Whether you are craving breakfast or savory lunch options Taco Heads has you covered with a variety of flavorful options and tasty beverages that will have you coming back for more.
What started as a food truck this spot has now been serving delicious eats for over 10 years. Now it’s permanent location is in Fort Worth right across from Dickie’s Arena this spot is perfectly located for those in the metroplex. We loved driving up to this cute location that offered a spacious patio in addition to their indoor seating near the bar. Since we went for lunch we were able to get seated immediately, but I could guess that this spot does get busier on the weekends.
While we took a chance to look over their menu we grabbed their traditional margaritas and an order of chips and guacamole to start. I loved that the chips were extra crispy and dusted with spice for an extra bite. The creamy guacamole was refreshing and tasted great with the sweet corn chips. The margaritas were some of the best I’ve ever had and were great with our meal.
For tacos they offer a variety of signature options! The best part was that you were able to order single tacos so that you can try a variety of their meat and vegetarian options. For my meal I chose the garlic cilantro gulf shrimp and the mama castillo’s chicken. As a big shrimp taco fan I was surprised that the chicken ended up being my favorite. I loved that the chicken was cooked with peppers and onions and perfectly topped with fresh pico de gallo, cilantro and queso fresco. It was a great flavorful bite! The shrimp taco was also great and had a tangy pickled slaw and aioli.
In addition to the great tasting food, I truly loved the atmosphere of this spot and the speediness of the service we received. I know that this is a place I will be coming back time and time again.
