Primo’s MX Kitchen Uptown

Being in Texas you have lots of choices when it comes to Tex Mex. While I’ve visited my fair share of these establishments, I couldn’t wait to try Primo’s MX Kitchen. This spot is perfectly located in Uptown off McKinney Ave. Offering delicious food and a picturesque atmosphere, I know you are going to love this hot spot.

Since the location of this restaurant is in a busy area we walked from our starting destination. The parking did seem to be limited so I highly recommend finding alternative transit or being prepared to street park in the neighborhood.

When looking for a new dinner spot, my friends and I chose to visit on a Saturday night. While we didn’t have reservations, we were able to be seated rather quickly. Our server was quick to bring us waters, chips and two different salsas and grab our drink orders. They offered a great full service bar full of typical and special margaritas as well as a variety of tequilas and other spirit options. We skipped on drinking and split their queso appetizer. The creamy cheese was so great with the salty chips and pork rinds that came complimentary with our salsas.

For my dinner I opted for the shrimp tacos that came with my choice of corn or flower tortillas and American or primos style. I went. With the primos style that is more traditional of cilantro and onion. They tasted great with the spicy salsa and were extremely filling with the rice and beans that were served with my meal. I couldn’t believe how much food we received for the price. In addition to the great food, I loved how courteous the wait staff was, especially on such a busy night. Everyone from the waiter to the hostess and even manager came to check on us throughout the meal and added to the experience.

So next time you are looking for a delicious Tex-Mex meal I highly recommend trying this spot for brunch, lunch, dinner or even drinks!
