Fried chicken has always been one of many Southern staples. There’s something about a nice and crispy chicken wing that hits the spot perfectly. However, if you’re interested in trying some fried chicken with a twist, look no further than BBQ Chicken.
BBQ Chicken has locations all over the Dallas-Forth area, including Frisco, Plano, and Carrollton. I visited the Carrollton location at the Shops at Old Denton (AKA Dallas’ very own Koreatown!). BBQ Chicken was founded in Seoul, South Korea in 1995. The fried chicken served at this establishment is true to recipes, ingredients, and methods used in Korea. Flavors range from traditional to adventurous!
All of the boneless wing flavors really appealed to me. It was hard to choose an option, so I ordered two fried chicken plates. I started off with the Cheesling, which is boneless fried chicken dusted in a rich medley of sweet cheeses. I was also drawn to the seasonal offering, Maple Crunch. These boneless wings are glazed in maple syrup with a rich butter and garlic sauce.
Of course, no traditional Korean meal is complete without offerings such as ddeokbokki, a classic Korean street food made from rice cakes and fish cakes in a sweet and spicy chili sauce, or kimchi fried rice.
