Babel

If you are looking for somewhere to enjoy a high quality meal then you need to check out the newly opened Babel. This fine dining restaurant puts its spin on modern Mediterranean cuisine and is the perfect spot for your next date night. Located in Uptown off Welborn Street this spot is easy to miss, but once inside you feel like you’ve truly found a hidden gem.

Walking into the restaurant feels like you are walking into a secret speakeasy with their beautifully designed layout featuring neutral colors, romantic lighting, and exceptionally beautifully designed bar top. I would highly recommend making a reservation as the restaurant is only open for dinner service and is new to the area with lots of people looking to enjoy a meal here. With the excellent service and delicious bites, it is sure to be a hot spot in the area, but for now feels like the best kept secret.

We came here for a celebration meal and the staff truly made the night one could never forget. The ambiance felt cozy, yet romantic, and the menu offered so many different delicious sounding dishes. To start off the meal, we went with a suggestion from our server for their traditional hummus and Greek salad that paired nicely with the freshly baked pita and was perfect for sharing. We also grabbed two glasses of Prosecco that were perfect for toasting that were cool and crisp.

For our main entrees I tried the lamb ravioli that was topped with a delicious tomato sauce and fresh basil while my partner enjoyed their roasted lamb chops and fried potatoes. We finished the meal with a slice of their baklava cheesecake that was nutty and creamy without being too sweet. The food while pricier than our traditional meal was truly delightful and everything had such excellent flavor. It was the perfect spot for a date night, and I would hope to return again in the future.
