Campisi’s

Named one of the oldest Italian restaurants in Dallas this spot in downtown is serving delicious bites in a historic atmosphere. I’m taking about Campisi’s which first opened its doors in 1946 and has a rich history of family tradition. Not only does their story make you want to try them out, but their delicious food speaks for themselves and will show you why they’ve been around for a while.

We first discovered this restaurant after hearing about it on a Dallas restaurant segment we saw on tv. The food looked incredible and we knew we had to check it out. We decided to try them out for lunch on a weekday and thought the service was incredible. Parking can be found on the surrounding streets and is only a short walk to Elm Street. Upon arriving at the restaurant you will be greeted by their neon sign and the aroma of fresh Italian food.

We wanted to try out their lunch special so we ordered their pasta combo. This came with a small dinner salad, Joe’s Toast, and main entree of spaghetti, lasagna, ravioli, and a meatball. The whole lunch was enough for two people and I couldn’t believe how much food you got. The price of the lunch special was a steal and gave us plenty of food for seconds.

We ordered at the counter and found ourselves a table on their patio. There was plenty of seating options both inside and out. We loved that we had a view of the famous eye downtown and after only a short wait our food was ready. It was hard to decide which was my favorite as everything was packed with flavor. They didn’t skip on the portions or the taste and it was one of my favorite meals. I can’t wait to come back soon to try out more items on the menu.
